My passion for cooking and baking started from early childhood. I was the little girl who loved to be in the kitchen watching Mum transform simple ingredients into wholesome family meals, preserves and tasty treats. Decades later, I still have fond memories of sitting for hours flicking through her cookery book, planning my next culinary challenge or developing my knowledge and skills through television programmes such as The Galloping Gourmet, Gary Rhodes, Delia Smith and Masterchef.
I established the Quirky Cook in 2008, producing artisan foods and running a catering service from my home kitchen in Derbyshire. It became a registered brand in 2016, following the launch of my innovative Black Garlic Relishes - the first of their kind in the UK condiment market. These unique relishes went on to achieve many Great Taste Awards including Ambient Product of the Year 2018.
It was shortly after the first national lockdown of COVID-19 that sparked my idea of creating an indulgent Afternoon Tea Gift Box delivery service, enabling people to celebrate their special occasions or to send cheer to their family members or friends during those difficult times.
The Quirky Cook brand has become synonymous with quality catering...in particular, Afternoon Teas. I love the etiquette involved in this wonderful British tradition which I have extensively researched and sampled over time.
The menus I offer are fixed or bespoke to an individual's personal food preferences.
