My passion for cooking and baking started from early childhood. I was the little girl who loved to be in the kitchen watching Mum transform simple ingredients into wholesome family meals, preserves and tasty treats. Decades later, I still have fond memories of sitting for hours flicking through her cookery book, planning my next culinary challenge or developing my knowledge and skills through television programmes such as The Galloping Gourmet, Gary Rhodes, Delia Smith and Masterchef.
The Quirky Cook company was established in 2008. It was an easy name to choose as I had often been referred to as "Quirky" and I loved to cook. It later became a registered brand in 2016 following the success of my innovative Black Garlic Relishes, the first of their kind in the UK condiment market and achieving numerous Great Taste Awards including Ambient Product of the Year 2018.
Over the years, I have established myself as a highly-respected artisan food producer and a specialist in stylish Afternoon Teas. I love the etiquette involved in this wonderful British tradition, having extensively researched the subject and sampling the best there is to offer.
COVID-19 with its first lockdown, sparked the idea of creating an indulgent Afternoon Tea Gift Box that could be delivered to your doorstep, helping people celebrate special occasions or to help someone get through a difficult time. Every order handmade by me, the Quirky Cook and delivered with a friendly smile and personalised message.
I also offer a full Afternoon Tea delivery service complete with hired crockery if required including Hen Party catering with food delivered ready to eat or an option for a "hands-on make your own Afternoon Tea" fun-themed cookery class.
